Thomas Coke to John Fletcher at Madeley near Sheffnall (sic), Cheshire, 1870

Facsimile copy of a letter written by Thomas Coke to John Fletcher (1729-1785) on January 6th, 1782. Coke mentions "our Plans for the establishing of Foreign Missions". This became one of Coke's highest goals. Coke is often remembered as the 'founding father' of Methodist missions abroad and overseas.

The Reverend Dr Samuel Dousland Waddy (1804-1876) arranged for the printing of this letter in 1870. The original was in his personal collection.
