The pack covers Wesley’s Chapel, John Wesley’s House, and the Museum of Methodism. It has been written to help teachers plan educational visits to Wesley’s Chapel, and to use it to support several aspects of the National Curriculum.
“Thank you again for our fantastic visit.
Year 5 loved our recent trip to the Museum of Methodism to learn about the links between John Wesley and the abolition of slavery. The children (and adults!) especially loved looking and finding out about the artefacts that you have, especially the letter written to William Wilberforce and the original pen used to write it! It was also great to use the cotton, tobacco and shackles to think about the life of the slaves. We also did a nice follow up lesson around this too. The children enjoyed being demonstrators in the chapel too!”
